Join the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra for an evening of magnificent music at the National Concert Hall.

Three masterpieces of orchestral and vocal colour mark the RTÉ NSO’s contribution to Culture Night 2015 as rising-star German baritone Benjamin Appl (currently a BBC New Generation Artist) joins us for Mahler’s poetic and poignant Wunderhorn-era Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen (Songs of a Wayfarer). Janáček’s Taras Bulba is a brilliant and bold depiction of the bloody life and death of a legendary Cossack, Dvořák’s tune-filled Ninth Symphony, From the New World, a glorious hymnal to nature and native American song.

On the programme:
JANÁČEK Taras Bulba [24’]
MAHLER
Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen (Songs of a Wayfarer) [17’]
DVOŘÁK
Symphony No. 9 in E minor, From the New World [40’]
